Anonymous for the Voiceless is a non-governmental organisation active in numerous countries around the world that aims to defend animal rights. The purpose of this study is to determine how a group of vegans can successfully get their message across in a world where the majority of people are omnivores and practice speciesism. This thesis will first set the scene by describing the organisation, its members and its actions in an attempt to understand this vegan activist movement. Then, an in-depth analysis of the street activism actions carried out by the volunteers of Anonymous for the Voiceless will be conducted. Finally, suggestions for improving the communication of this group will be made. The suggestions put forward will show how the use of new online media could be beneficial to an organisation whose actions are more prominent on the streets than on the web.
