(ger) Ziel dieser Masterarbeit ist es, die Ursachen des flämisch-wallonischen Konflikts und dessen Auswirkungen auf die Zukunft Belgiens zu analysieren. Zunächst ist es notwendig, einen Überblick über den historischen Weg zu geben, der zur Gründung Belgiens führte. Anschließend wird die nationale und regionale Identität diskutiert. Es wird darum gehen, die Identität zu definieren, ihre Merkmale zu benennen und das belgische Nationalbewusstsein und die regionalen Identitäten zu definieren. Dann werden die zugrundeliegenden Ursachen des Konflikts untersucht. In diesem Kapitel werden u.a. der Sprachenstreit, die wirtschaftlichen Unterschiede auf regionaler Ebene und die politische Struktur Belgiens behandelt. Bei dem letzten Kapitel dieser Arbeit geht es um die Zukunft Belgiens, die von den sprachlichen, wirtschaftlichen und politischen Ursachen des Konflikts bestimmt wird. Die Folgen reichen von Separatismus bis hin zur Zentralisierung und Regionalisierung des Landes.

(eng) The aim of this master's thesis is to understand the underlying reasons for the Flemish-Walloon conflict and to determine the consequences of this conflict for the future of Belgium. Before enumerating the different linguistic, economic and political causes, it will first be necessary to give an overview of the historical path leading to the creation of Belgium. The history of Belgium, even though it hardly bore that name at the time, goes back to antiquity and continues to this day. Then, the national and regional identity will be discussed. The aim is to define identity, to give its characteristics, to determine whether there is a Belgian national consciousness and to see how it is defined when there are three regions that are becoming increasingly autonomous. The chapter on the history of Belgium and the chapter on identity will help to understand the ins and outs of the conflict. Then, the causes of the conflict will be investigated. These are of a linguistic, economic and political nature and each of them is divided into sub-chapters if necessary. Finally, the last chapter of the dissertation is based on a cause and effect relationship. The future of Belgium is determined by the linguistic, economic and political causes of the conflict, which will change the internal structure of the country in the coming years. The consequences range from separatism to centralisation and regionalisation of the country. Even if predicting the future remains a daring and perilous task, certain trends do not lie and suggest that the future of the Kingdom remains above all threatened by its members.
