The UCL iMMC-TFL group is involved in the Flywin project which the aim is to build a 15 [m] long demonstrator of a large cargo airship. Our thesis is to design an experimental setup in order to measure - in the small wind tunnel of the UCL iMMC-LEFT laboratory - the aerodynamic properties of a scaled down model of the demonstrator airship. The study is structured in several steps. The first one is to design a scaled down model and its attachments relative to the test section. The second is to performs tests on the model in wind tunnel for both small and large angles of attack and of side-slip. Tests on the fins aerodynamics will also be performed. Some of our results will be compared with aerodynamic models from the literature. Last step is to use Particle Image Velocymetry to visualise the flow around our model
