Entitled "The theological mission of Romano Guardini. Essai sur l'unité d'une œuvre" (The Theological Mission of Romano Guardini. An Essay on the Unity of a Work), this research highlights the main axes of Guardini's thought, as they appear from his early writings to the first years of his university teaching in Berlin and the publication of his famous treatise on Polarity (1925). The first part of the study is devoted to the beginnings of Guardini's theological mission. In particular, the aim is to highlight the orientation of our work in relation to the many studies already undertaken on the thought of Romano Guardini. The approach to theological mission corresponds to an all-encompassing method that involves both the thought and the life of the work under study. The second part of the study shows the three main axes of Guardini's thought in their unity and articulation. The circumstances surrounding the emergence of each of them is considered in each case to show Guardini's characteristic unity of thought and life. From 1905 to 1925, Guardini's theological thought emerged and was articulated around polar theory, Bonaventure's metaphysics and Christology, and liturgical theology. The final part shows the first developments in Guardini's theological mission, both in the Berlin courses that began in 1923, and in his involvement with the Quickborn youth movement. This study as a whole is intended as a contribution to the theological reception of Romano Guardini's work, and seeks to show how such a work can contribute to current theological research.
