Research into L2 writing tends to focus on the written product, that is, the final version of a text. This is particularly the case in learner corpus research, where most written learner corpora are made up of final texts as submitted by learners. While such research has provided extremely valuable insights into L2 writing, it has neglected the process through which texts come to be produced. This presentation will introduce the Process Corpus of English in Education (PROCEED), which, in addition to written texts, includes screencast videos and keylog files that give access to writing processes. It will be illustrated how the corpus has made it possible to explore aspects such as the use of online writing tools or the phraseology of L2 writing processes, and how it has been exploited in teaching.
