What does it take to be disruptive: A literature review

How disruption occurs in established markets is broadly discussed. However, the link between entrepreneurial practices and disruptive innovation is still a nascent stream in the literature. In this paper, we consolidate publications linking both fields with a bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer® and a literature review. In this way, we aim to identify specifically which entrepreneurial practices could work together to create ventures that disrupt the market. The review reveals the influences that impact the practices over the disruption process and how the context restricts and enhances its development. The results can help managers, researchers and nascent entrepreneurs to better understand the whole process and create markets that are more competitive.
