The so-called : « erythema craquelé » of the lower limbs observed in old people is a complication of skin xerosis. It is frequent, may become eczematous (« eczema craquelé ») and is benign in nature. On the contrary, widespread « erythema craquelé » on other parts of the body may also occur in young adults. It requires the search for a paraneoplasic syndrome or a nutritional deficiency. It has also been described as a skin side effect, following a treatment with pemetrexel.
