Clapping, bouncing and tapping with music in a normal population

(eng) Moving to music is a widespread ability in the adult population. Yet, there are individuals who have marked difficulties to do so because they fail to find the musical beat. This condition is termed ‘beat deafness’. In order to identify these beat-deaf individuals, we need to establish norms for different synchronization tasks, to assess the relationship between performance on each of the synchronization tasks and to define diagnostic criteria for beat deafness. To address these issues, we are conducting a large-scale study on normal synchronization performance.
