Abstract -With the advent of Cloud Computing, it is now possible to get additional resources in a very short time and then release them when they are no longer of use. When
considering a theoretically perfectly elastic database cluster,a surge in the load applied on the database cluster can be compensated by the addition of new nodes that will quickly take a fair share of the total load. In practice, cloud databases
have very different behaviors when new nodes are added into the cluster. This paper presents the elasticity results of four cloud databases and their analysis. Furthermore, it list a few use cases and the associated best databases to solve each set of problems as well as a few recommendations based on the experience acquired during this study.
