The hereafter described experiment was done about five years ago at the University of Tokyo, Japan, by students in architecture under the leading of Professor Takashi Takahashi. The experiment was a project of the architecture studio, its theme was a wood bench and the process can be divided into four parts. Step one : Designing the bench / Step two : Building the bench / Step three : Using the bench / Step four : Destroying the bench. To conclude, such experiment, close to full-scale modelling process before mass production for instance, revealed to be very attractive and useful for students in architecture and could be usefully included in many school of architecture design studio programs. |
