Abstract	:	The observation of a 62 year-old woman who had been suffering from arthritis for several years and in whom treatment with high doses of acetylsalicyclic acid resulted in severe acute hepatitis is reported. Clinical and serological findings led to the diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus complicated by acute drug induced hepatitis.
