Our presentation primarily focused on defining two clusters of concepts and objects representing contemporary algorithmic power and governance: on one side, surveillance, control, and risk, and on the other, algorithms, Big Data, and artificial intelligence. Secondly, it contributes to the ongoing debates regarding the use and institutionalization of algorithms, Big Data, and artificial intelligence, actively participating in the heuristic development of studies on contemporary forms of power from a digital perspective. The fundamental issues explored in this work encompass, firstly, the acceleration and heightened utilization of digital technologies in our contemporary societies and, secondly, their impacts on our daily lives, particularly in our relationship with digital platforms. Our objective here was to gain a better understanding of the interaction among these various phenomena and to deepen our knowledge. Lastly, we aimed to provide an overview of the diverse potential consequences arising from new information and communication technologies, ultimately examining how these mediums transform our relationship with surveillance, control, and risk.
