Georges Eekhoud mixes political and sexual subversion in two of his short stories: Appol et Brouscard and Une Mauvaise rencontre, both published first in 1895 in La Société nouvelle, a left-wing journal with anarchistic tendencies and the following year in his collection of short stories Mes Communions. This article studies how Eekhoud paints homosexuality in both of these texts and depicts such love as a political and social stance as well.
