[UCL]
This paper analyses characteristics of EU coordination at the UN through insider observations and suggests a set of recommendations for improving and simplifying some of the current ways of proceeding. This would be of particular interest for the external action service of the EU, which will provide back up and support to the High Representative for the Union in Foreign Affairs. This new configuration should streamline and increase the impact and the coherence of the EU’s external action. This article is a critical assessment of the complex coordination of the EU-27 and is divided into two chapters.
