During the last two decades, liver transplantation has emerged as a valuable option for unresectable hepatoblastoma, whereas the indications for liver transplantation remain unclear for less frequent liver tumours like hepatocellular carcinoma and hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma. This chapter reviews the requirements and results of surgical management, including transplantation, in these liver malignancies in children. Surgical aspects of the management of primary liver malignancies include precise anatomic and histological diagnosis, correct staging, multidisciplinary approach, which includes chemotherapy, major liver resections and transplantation.
