Word finding difficulty is a quite common speech disorder in children with specific language impairment. It is thus essential to propose an effective intervention to these children in view of the impact of such a lexical access disorder. This article has a two-fold purpose. First, it reviews the different types of targeted interventions proposed in the literature to address these lexical access difficulties. Secondly, it provides clinical suggestions promoting generalisation and transfer of learning outcomes in everyday life.
