To explore this issue, the article focuses on the famous online encyclopedia Wikipedia, considering it as an organizing process (Weick, 1980) constituted through communication. On Wikipedia, decisions are made but nobody has a formal mandate to achieve them. Decisions thus results from negotiations between contributors. Consequently, to uncover the micro-processes thatcomposes the everyday organizational life on Wikipedia, one must know whohas the legitimacy to speak – that is, the authority - and how is he acting to do so – that is, the authorship.
