La transition de l’enseignement secondaire vers l’enseignement supérieur : rôle des représentations et motivations à l'égard de son projet de formation

L’engagement des étudiants envers leur projet de formation est un des facteurs expliquant la persévérance et la réussite dans l’enseignement supérieur. Or, trop peu d’études ont cherché à comprendre ce qui détermine cet engagement. Nos deux études empiriques, menées auprès d’étudiants de première année de l’enseignement supérieur, comblent cette lacune. Elles montrent, sur la base de modélisations en équations structurales, que la représentation du projet de formation développée par les étudiants (en termes d’abstraction et d’intégration) influence leur engagement envers ce projet. L’importance perçue du projet de formation et le sentiment d’efficacité personnelle ressenti à son égard jouent un rôle de médiateurs dans ce processus.
