From extraction to indexation. Collecting new indexation keys by means of IE techniques

we present an automatic system aimed at extracting and managing information about personalities. The information is extracted by means of electronic dictionaries and Finite State Transducers and then aggregated according to rewriting rules. Finally, the extracted terms are used as indexing terms in a full scale Information System. In order to keep the indexing terms database up to date, the extraction module is hooked up to a system that generates a continuous flow of textual data by downloading current edition of newspapers on the Internet.
