In this paper, we describe measurement results of 30 * 30 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) car-to-car (C2C) radio channels at 5.3 GHz in four environments: on a campus, on a highway, in urban and sub-urban areas. We first investigate the validity of the wide-sense stationarity (WSS) assumption by using the correlation matrix distance (CMD), which is an earlier introduced metric for characterizing the MIMO channel non-stationarity. Finally, we develop a statistical 20 MHz bandwidth channel model in the highway environment, including tap amplitude statistics and inter-tap correlation matrices. The small-scale fading was found to be best fitted by both the Nakagami and Weibull distributions.
