X-ray Structures of 11,11-dimethoxy-2-oxo-9-phenylsulfonyl-bicyclo[6.3.0]undecane and its Dioxolane Derivative

The structure of the title compounds were determined by X-ray diffraction. A trans ring junction was observed in both molecules and the phenylsulfonyl substituent was directed anti regarding that junction. The conformation of the polycyclic skeletons are compared.
