Application of the semi-classical approximation to the single electron-impact ionization of helium-like ions

The semi-classical approximation is used to compute total cross sections for single electron-impact ionization of helium like ions in the ground state. It is shown that the results agrees, in general fairly well with the Coulomb-Born exchange approximation and with the available experimental data.
