The morphology and development of the root system influence the field performance of cropplants. However,the difficulty to capture root informaaon restricts our understanding of root shape and funcaon. Aeroponics and rhizotronsninfrastructures allow the quanaficaao nof morphological ,and funcaonal root traits in non-‐invasive and dynamic ways. Recently, the value of aeroponics has been proven to characterize elongaaon rates, emergence kineacs and root branching of thousands of cereal plants
