Le Tresor Nostre Dame par Brisebarre : édition critique d’un poème marial inédit

(fre) Il est des auteurs médiévaux n’ayant guère joui de l’estime de la critique moderne. Le trouvère Brisebarre en fait partie. Fort heureusement, au cours de la seconde moitié du XXe siècle, son œuvre fut redécouverte à travers l’édition de deux de ses compositions. Ceci ne pouvait que motiver les philologues à poursuivre l’entreprise, d’autres textes attendant leur éditeur. Le Tresor Nostre Dame, composé dans la première moitié du XIVe siècle, fut jusqu’à présent l’un d’entre eux. De nature religieuse et suivant le modèle de la strophe d’Hélinand, le poème est une prière adressée à la Vierge Marie. Certes, il n’échappe pas aux nombreux topoi de la littérature mariale, mais il invite à porter un regard nouveau sur son auteur. La présente édition ambitionne de remettre la biographie du trouvère sur le métier, en l’enrichissant d’une étude poétique et linguistique du texte édité. Ce dernier, pièce maîtresse du mémoire, se veut au plus proche de l’original réalisé par Brisebarre, transmis dans quatre manuscrits.

(eng) There are medieval authors who have hardly enjoyed the esteem of modern criticism. The trouvère Brisebarre is one of them. Fortunately, during the second half of the 20th century, his work was rediscovered through the edition of two of his compositions. This could only motivate philologists to continue the initiative, with other texts awaiting their publisher. The Tresor Nostre Dame, composed in the first half of the 14th century, was one of them. Religious in nature and following the model of the Helinand stanza, the poem is a prayer addressed to the Virgin Mary. Of course, it does not escape the numerous topoi of Marian literature, but it invites to take a new look at its author. The present edition aims to rework the biography of the trouvère, enriching it with a poetic and linguistic study of the published text. The critical text, the centerpiece of this Master’s thesis, is intended to be as close as possible to the original text written by Brisebarre, transmitted in four manuscripts.
