Unlike many other articles, which try to addressee the effects and consequences of border externalization based on a single issue, this work will assess the effectiveness of border externalization through the analysis of various issues, such as numbers of crossings, the effect of political tension on the cooperation, human rights, and the readmission agreements. Moreover, the work will be leaning on a comparison of the effectiveness of two partnerships: EU-Morocco and EU-Turkey. However, an overall assessment will be concluded from the comparison on the policy of EU border externalization as whole. Since the article will analyze different fields, there will be a combination of methods for this analysis; data analysis when it comes numbers and interviews when human rights issues are concerned. Furthermore, a judicial review will be conducted to analyze the validity of certain deals.
