The objective of this thesis is to highlight the advantages and disadvantages or constraints, that Blockchain technology can provide to an SCF platform, as well as to companies under strict regulations. The thesis analyzes those advantages and obstacles through a case study methodology, using an abductive approach to provide more understanding of the complex Blockchain-enabled SCF platforms. The benefits of using Blockchain for any platform come from its core components, as it provides more security and reliability, in general. The obstacles, however, come from either the companies' apprehensiveness or unadapted regulations. The conclusion of this thesis provides a better understanding of both advantages and obstacles regarding the adoption of a Blockchain-based SCF platform. On one hand, the advantages encompass the general benefits of Blockchain, but, above all, the trust lacking from the current international context. On the other hand, the obstacles come from two important actors in the SCF market: regulators and Fintechs/financial institutions.
