This research paper is written as a part of the Master degree in multilingual communication. It provides a better insight into gender issues circulating in the technology sector. After undertaking several courses in order to analyse the importance of accurate communication in business environment, this dissertation demonstrates how modern tools of external communication may change the way people perceive technology industry. It aimed to investigate the women’s presence on the websites of technology companies. Three technology companies were chosen for this dissertation, namely IBM, Intel and Samsung. The main objective was to examine whether companies’ tend to represent women on their websites. The final results showed that women have remained underrepresented in the technology sector, compared to their male counterparts. According to Wynn and Correll’s studies (2017), the low representation of women in the technology industry could be caused by gendered perceptions. Women are unwilling to enter the STEM industry because they believe that they don’t possess skills to be successful.
