Additive manufacturing of metallic alloys is a promising sector. But it is still too recent to have many applications in the industry. Refinement of the processes is still necessary to ensure competitivity with conventional alloys. Here, the Selective Laser Melting of AlSi10Mg alloy was examined. Manufaturing parameters were varied in order to optimise the density of the parts. The influence of heat treatments on the microstructure was investigated. This very specific and fine microstructure was analysed to explain the mechanical properties of the finished parts. A tentative to measure the residual stresses induced during manufacturing with and without thermal post-treatment was carried out.
