Plan data management costs

Produce research data of good quality can be costly. Besides data collection costs, data management, data curation, documentation, storage and publication can be costly. In establishing your data management plan, it is important to think about all these steps and related costs.

For example, you might need help from one person at some steps of the process and consider his/her payment in the cost. You may, for example, need the help of one informatician for one month, and he/she should be pay via this grant too.

Some storage or repository solution may also be costly. Be careful to these aspects when considering storage or repository solutions.

Depending on your research funder, some of these costs may be eligible during or after the research-project period. First, try to approximate these costs (see tools, below). Then, contact the Research administration of your university (the contact person may depend on your funder: H2020, ERC, FNRS, etc.)
